Evaluating my own presentation from the feedback I received from my viewers, I would believe the effort that I’d put in to my work was satisfactory seeing as I had scored the midpoint of 11 out of a total of 20. Despite providing key information in relation to my selected movie the reason behind my presentation scoring low marks is due to the lack of several elements. Positively my presentation was very well laid out, it was visibly clear to see key information, attractive from the 80’s related colour scheme and additionally the use of images which helped as evidence to illustrating when giving a summary of certain scenes throughout the film. Although appearing to be attractive, the major downfall of my presentation would perhaps be the large amounts of texts included on a few slides. This there fore effected my rehearsal skills as at times I would read of the board since I’d elapsed to remember the large chunks of information as well as my audience reading the board in order to follow my present. Even though I’d read a majority of information included off the board, my audience seem to have been impressed seeing as they found I was loud and clearly spoken.
Furthermore I’d yet proven to understand my text very well given the fact that I had explained the plot of the film very precisely and briefly as well as introducing my audience to the four main characters (the protagonist in particular). During the presentation when explaining different subjects such as genre, ideologies etc. I seem to have been using correct media terms according to my audience. They found that I explained my points well evidently with the numerous amounts of media vocabulary (key terms) and their definitions such as gratifications theory, binary opposition, narrative; linear pattern etc. However the way in which I lacked from a structure perspective would be based from my terminology as various terms and methods were stated but didn’t actually give details on the names of the theorists and relative dates.
